SAB to Hold Auditions in Paris, Madrid and Buenos Aires
For the second consecutive year, SAB will hold auditions in international locations for students in the fall. The audition schedule includes Paris, France (Oct. 23), Madrid, Spain (Oct. 29) and Buenos Aires, Argentina (November 6). The Paris and Madrid audition classes will be conducted by faculty member Suki Schorer. She will be joined at the Madrid audition by Joaquin De Luz, a native of Spain who is now a principal dancer at New York City Ballet. SAB's co-chairman of faculty Kay Mazzo will oversee the audition in Buenos Aires.
The October and November auditions will be for intermediate and advanced ballet students between the ages of 12 and 18 who are interested in attending SAB's 2011 Summer Course. The Summer Course is a five-week program in which 200 serious ballet students from around the world live in the School's on-site residence at Lincoln Center and take ballet, pointe, variations and partnering classes with SAB's world-renowned faculty. Most advanced students enrolled in the School's year-round program first attended one or more Summer Course sessions before being invited for full-time training in the Winter Term. The 2011 Summer Course will take place from June 27 to July 30.
The auditions will be open to all eligible students of any nationality and no preregistration is required.
