International students (those outside the continental United States) may audition by submitting a DVD or VHS tape in American standard format (NTSC) in lieu of an in-person audition. The tape or DVD should portray the student in practice clothes (girls in leotard and tights; boys in T-shirt and tights) in an abbreviated class with the full range of barre and center exercise and, for girls, pointe work. The DVD or VHS must be accompanied by our Video Application form and a copy of your birth certificate or passport.  Audition packages for international students interested in attending the 2011 Summer Course should be submitted between December 1, 2010, and March 1, 2011. International students may also audition in person at any city on the National Audition Tour or at SAB.


An application fee of $35 (U.S.) must be submitted with the video audition. Applicants may pay this fee by submitting credit card information on the video application form or may enclose an international money order in the amount of $35 (U.S.) payable to The School of American Ballet.  If paying by credit card, please complete the form in its entirety.
