International Auditions

SAB will hold in-person auditions for intermediate and advanced students at two international locations this fall.  Students of any nationality may attend the auditions. Those who audition will be considered for admission to the 2013 Summer Course at SAB in New York City.  International students who are unable to attend one of the international auditions may also audition for the Summer Course by submitting a video application or by attending an audition on the U.S. National Audition Tour or at SAB in New York City.

The 2013 Summer Course will be held from June 24 through July 27, 2013

IMPORTANT AUDITION INFORMATION:
  • Online Pre-registration is recommended but optional.  The audition is open to Intermediate and Advanced ballet students between the ages of 12 and 18
  • All applicants must show official proof of birth at the time of the audition. Only a passport or official government document will be accepted as proof.
  • Recommendation letters, photographs and resumés are NOT required for the audition.
  • Girls must bring pointe shoes to the audition.
  • Girls should wear a solid-color leotard and pink tights to the audition. Boys should wear a plain t-shirt and black tights to the audition.
  • The audition will resemble a ballet class with barre and center work. Students do not need to prepare a solo or variation in advance of the audition.
  • Observation of auditions is not permitted.


Video Application for International Students

International students outside the Continental US who cannot attend one of SAB's international or US auditions may audition by submitting a DVD or VHS tape in lieu of an in-person audition. Students must submit the video, the video application form and audition fee between November 15, 2012 and January 30, 2013 to be considered for the 2012 Summer Course.
