National Advisory Council
The Board of Directors created the School of American Ballet’s National Advisory Council in 1975 to help promote wider awareness of SAB’s achievements while also providing several annual scholarships to talented but needy students. The Advisory Council meets in New York City twice a year – once in the fall and again in early June when the meeting is scheduled to coincide with our annual student Workshop Performances and Benefit. In addition to attending the meetings, members are asked to support the Advisory Council Scholarship Fund with a minimum annual gift of $5,000. Council members are also invited to a variety of special SAB events throughout the year, including the National and International Audition Tour, which is held in over 20 cities across the country including several locations where Advisory Council members live. The commitment and participation of the Advisory Council’s members have made it an integral part of the School. Membership is by invitation.
