Visiting one of the School's intermediate or advanced classes on specially designated days is a unique privilege. Classes are at the very heart of everything the School does, and time spent with teachers and students in the studio is both a wonderful experience and a chance to see up-and-coming young dancers. And, class visits provide a rare lesson in how the art of ballet is passed from generation to generation.



Every fall the School hosts a special seminar for those who make contributions of $250 or more. Held in an SAB studio, seminars are an intriguing blend of entertainment and education, with the opportunity to see students, teachers, and other artists in an intimate setting. Past seminars have focused on The Art of Pas de Deux, Ballet Training for Boys, and Auditioning for SAB, which showed what SAB looks for in potential students when auditioning young people across the country for the School's Summer Course.



Peter Martins allows a limited number of guests to attend the final rehearsal for the Workshop Performances at the end of the school year. This costumed, working orchestra rehearsal often features alternate student casts, and allows a glimpse of stagers working directly with young dancers to perfect their upcoming performances. It's a real "behind the scenes" privilege.



Published twice each year, the School's newsletter contains feature stories about students, faculty and SAB programs, plus reports on recent activities, alumni news, a special Executive Director's report, and many photos.



Donors may be invited to special receptions, attend New York City Ballet rehearsals, be listed in the Workshop program, or be invited to attend other, unannounced programs such as the Student Choreography Workshop or special lecture demonstrations.
