10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
D (Studio 1 /Suki Schorer)
This is the most advanced of the women's classes. Many students from this class are invited to join professional companies.
C – 2 (Studio 4 /Kay Mazzo)
Girls in this level are about 16 or 17 years old. Students work to develop stamina as well as speed and lightness.
C – 1 (Studio 5 /Darci Kistler)
SAB's first Advanced Division class. Girls at this level take 11 classes a week, including Adagio and Variations.
12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
Advanced Men (Studio 1 /Jock Soto)
The Intermediate and Advanced Men's classes focus on the physical strength, power, and brilliance of male dancing with particular emphasis on elevation, pirouettes and beats.
2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Adagio AM/D (Studio 1 /Jock Soto and Darci Kistler)
The technique of adagio instills a strong sense of balance, musical and physical timing, unity of movement and eloquence of gesture.
2:30 – 4:00 p.m.
Toe C-1 (Studio 4/ Suzy Pilarre)
The technique for girls of performing ballet movements en pointe creates an impression of airiness and fleetness. Pointe work is undertaken when the student has learned basic technique and when her legs and feet are sufficiently developed, usually after three years in technique classes.
3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Adagio AM/C-2 (Studio 1 /Jock Soto and Darci Kistler)
The art of performing together in pas de deux is taught to female and male students in the advanced division levels.
