Auditions for 6 to 10 year olds
Each Spring, 6 to 10 year olds are invited to audition for the upcoming Winter Term (which begins in September). Auditions are held at SAB and at Community Audition locations in Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem, Chinatown and the Bronx. No previous training or experience is necessary for children in this age group.
2012 Spring Auditions at SAB
The following audition dates have been set for 6 to 10 year olds:
6 year olds Friday, April 20
7-8 year olds Friday, April 27
9-10 year olds Tuesday, April 17
Applicants who wish to audition at SAB must register in advance of the audition date and schedule a specific audition time between 4 and 7pm on the applicable date. Visit this page after March 1, 2012 to register online. There is a $35 audition fee for all auditions at SAB.
Free Community Auditions in Brooklyn, Queens, Chinatown, Harlem and the Bronx are held each May. Check the web site February 2012 for dates and locations for the 2012 Community Auditions.
General Audition information:
- Audition dress: Girls should wear a leotard or swimsuit and boys should wear shorts and a t-shirt to the auditions. (no long pants)
- Age eligibility: Children must be 6 years old by September 1, 2012, to audition and enroll for the 2012-13 Winter Term.
- Tuition assistance is available.
- Audition results will be communicated to all applicants in early June.
- 2012-13 Winter Term classes begin in mid-September 2012 for 8-10 year olds and in early October for 6 & 7 year olds.
