Auditions for 6 to 10 year olds
Each Spring, 6 to 10 year olds are invited to audition for the upcoming Winter Term (which begins in September). Auditions are held at SAB and at Community Audition locations in Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem, Chinatown and the Bronx. No previous training or experience is necessary for children in this age group.
2013 Spring Auditions at SAB
The following audition dates have been set for 6 to 10 year olds:
6 year olds Friday, April 5
6 year olds Monday, April 8
7-8 year olds Friday, April 12
9-10 year olds Tuesday, April 2
Although all of our auditions at SAB have concluded, applicants are still welcome to audition at one of our community audition locations. Please see below for dates and locations.
Note that results for the auditions that took place at SAB will be distributed via email on or before May 20. We will post a notice on this page when all 6-10 year old audition results have been released. Thank you for your patience.
Community Auditions
Free Community Auditions in Brooklyn, Queens, Chinatown, Harlem and the Bronx are held each spring. The 2013 dates and locations are below. Pre-registration for these auditions is recommended but not required. Applicants who preregister online will receive priority check-in at the audition. NOTE: Pre-registration is now closed for all auditions. Applicants are still welcome to register onsite at the Chinatown audition.
General Audition information:
- Audition dress: Girls should wear a leotard or swimsuit and boys should wear shorts and a t-shirt to the auditions. (no long pants)
- Age eligibility: Children must be 6 years old by September 1 to audition and enroll for the Winter Term beginning the same year.
- Tuition assistance is available.
- Winter Term classes begin in mid-September for 8-10 year olds and in early October for 6 & 7 year olds.
