Auditions for 6 to 10 year olds

Each Spring, 6 to 10 year olds are invited to audition for the upcoming Winter Term (which begins in September). Auditions are held at SAB and at Community Audition locations in Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem, Chinatown and the Bronx. No previous training or experience is necessary for children in this age group.

2010 Spring Auditions at SAB

Monday, April 19 – 6 year olds
Friday, April 23 – 7 and 8 year olds
Monday, April 26 – 9 and 10 year olds

Auditions will take place on each of the above dates between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. In order to audition, applicants must make an appointment on sab.org. The online appointment form will be available beginning March 1. Please return after March 1 to schedule an audition appointment for one of the above dates.

*There is a $35 audition fee for all auditions at SAB

Community Auditions

Free Community Auditions in Brooklyn, Queens, Chinatown, Harlem and the Bronx will be held in May 2010. Specific dates, times and locations will be posted on sab.org in early-March. It is not necessary to make an advance appointment for Community Auditions.

Free Community Auditions in Brooklyn, Queens, Chinatown, Harlem and the Bronx for girls and boys between the ages of 6 and 10, with or without previous training, are held in May. Children must be 6 by September 1 of the year in which they wish to enroll at SAB to attend Community Auditions. It is not necessary to make an advance appointment for Community Auditions. Children are welcome to attend the audition location which is most convenient. Please note that all classes are held at Lincoln Center.

General Audition information:

Audition dress: Girls should wear a leotard or swimsuit and boys should wear shorts and a t-shirt to the auditions. (no long pants)
Age eligibility: Children must be 6 years old by September 1, 2010, to audition and enroll for the 2010-11 Winter Term.
Tuition Assistance is available.
2010-11 Winter Term classes begin in mid-September 2010 for 8-10 year olds and in early October for 6 & 7 year olds.
