In addition to the SAB’s teaching studios and administrative offices, the Samuel B. and David Rose Building contains the Meredith Willson Residence Hall, which SAB shares with The Juilliard School.Intermediate and Advanced students who live out-of-state or too far away to commute may apply for living space in the residence hall. Spaces in the residence hall are awarded first to selected scholarship students; the remaining rooms are allotted to other students based on age and inability to commute. If residence space becomes available during the course of the year students may move in and pay a prorated fee.
During the Winter Term, the School’s resident students occupy four floors of the 18 story residence hall. Double and single rooms are arranged in suites that each contain two or more private bathrooms.

The residence hall is professionally staffed and has 24-hour adult supervision. Live-in staff includes the School’s director of student life, the director of residence life, the assistant director of residence life and three assistant residence hall directors. Four student resident assistants and a support staff also participate in the daily operations of the residence hall.
The entrance to SAB’s residence hall is staffed 24 hours a day. Students are required to sign in and out of the hall and receive permission from the staff person on duty when applicable. The staff is responsible for enforcing hall rules and curfews, and dealing with medical and other problems or emergencies. The staff also assists with the planning and implementation of student activities.
SAB and The Juilliard School operate a dining hall offering high-quality nutritious food in the Rose Building for the benefit of students, students’ families, and the artists, staffs and guests of Lincoln Center’s constituents. Both resident and nonresident meal plans for students are organized and managed by the Office of Student Life. A weekly 20-meal plan is required for resident students, while non-resident day students may purchase points or pay by cash.
