Budget & Financial Analysis Manager
Duties: Manage school's annual operating budget, capital budget, and provide budget support to departments. Manage investment portfolio reporting and tracking endowment gifts in compliance with New York Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (NYPMIFA). Work with CFO for Budget, Audit and Compensation and Investment committees. Assist in bond and swap compliance reporting. Coordinate accounting and reporting database (Blackbaud Financial Edge) including establishing chart of accounts, project codes, reports and queries. Oversight of student billing activity. Coordinate year-end audit process and IRS form 990 filings. Draft organizational accounting and finance policies. Perform general ledger reconciliations and account analyses. Prepare financial reports. Supervise Finance Associate.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, one (1) year of experience as Finance Associate or Financial Analyst. Experience must include: Nonprofit fund accounting; annual audit process; annual operating budget preparation and periodic updates; preparing year-end IRS Form 990; investment accounting and endowment tracking as per New York Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (NYPMIFA); Charitable Gift Annuity administration, including payment management, IRS Form 1099R reporting; financial presentations for Board meetings; monitoring student billing; bank reconciliation; preparation donor reports for foundation and government grant compliance; preparation of quarterly financial statements.
