California Workshop Auditions

Students interested in attending SAB's California Workshop for Young Dancers should attend an audition at one of the designated CA Workshop audition sites. Audition dates and locations for the 2017 California Workshop will be posted in October. Please check back for more information.

Audition Information

  • Preregistration is strongly recommended (but not required). Students who preregister will have the option to pre-pay the audition fee online at a discounted rate.  The audition fee is $28 when pre-paid online and $40 when paid at the time of the audition. Visit this link to learn more about pre-registration.
  • All applicants must show official proof of birth at the time of the audition. Only a birth certificate or passport will be acceptable as proof. Applicants without one of these documents will not be permitted to audition.
  • As a general rule, recommendation letters, photographs and resumes are not accepted at auditions.
  • Girls 11 and older must bring pointe shoes to the audition. Ten year olds who already have pointe shoes at the time of the audition should bring them, but they are not required.
  • Applicants should arrive at the audition location one hour in advance of the time scheduled for their age group in order to register.
  • Observation of auditions is not permitted.
  • If you are interested in auditioning for the CA Workshop only but do not live close to one of the CA Workshop audition locations, please contact us at auditions@sab.org for additional audition options.
